In Partnership with Chef Sean Langan - Cafe Amore
Desserts by Neighborhood Cooking Foundation

Sunshine and Seattle blue skies for Christmas Day this year, a beautiful day to serve Christmas dinner.  Chef Sean and able assistant Drew prepared a grand meal of Chicken Nachatta with roasted red potatoes and green beans.  Awesome desserts prepared by Neighborhood Cooking Foundation (NCF) were well received by our guests.

One of our guests was a young Asian woman who brought her small son.  She wanted to teach her son to earn his dinner.  We made room for her in our serving line for a short time so that we could share this day with her.  After they had dinner, she was able to find warm winter wear for her son, herself and her parents located at a senior center from an abundance of clothing brought by many of the volunteers.

We had a great deal of food left over which was taken to Nickelsville, located at New Hope Baptist Church.  This delicious hot meal was so very welcome.  The hygiene kits, put together by NCF, were a huge hit with many of the residents as were the numerous jackets and other warm winter wear items donated by so many.

Thanks go to the City of Seattle for maintaining the Outdoor Meal Site allowing many to have a safe, hot meal and to Operation Sack Lunch for sheparding us while we served.  Thanks go to Chef Sean and the crew of Café Amore who opened “Santa’s Kitchen” for all of our Elves who volunteered to prepare this grand meal.  Thanks to all who served.  In all things give thanks!
