Thanksgiving 2007:  What a beautiful day it was!  We served between 125 to 150 guests at the new Outdoor Meal Site at 6th & Columbia.  Chef Paul McD and his prep crew did an outstanding job of preparing a delicious dinner: turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn with lima beans.  Naturally cranberry sauce was served along with pumpkin pie for dessert.  The hot chocolate was quite welcome on this cold day.  Honora's knitting groups again provided beautiful hats and scarves for our guests.

Christmas 2007:  It really snowed and it was definitely cold.  We served 96 people a great dinner of pork roast, scalloped potatoes, a hot apple/raisin medley, brownies and hot chocolate.  Kudos to Chef Paul McD.  Our serving volunteers were super especially young Max who couldn't believe someone would not want a brownie.  Especially today our City deserves a thank you for providing a sheltered place to serve this hot meal: a place for 100 truly cold people to sit and share the afternoon.  A special thank you to Robert, one of our guests who arrived early as I had.  Robert not only offered me an orange to eat but also a cap to wear because it was so cold.

New Year's Day 2008:  The weather was kind to us for this holiday.  Chef Duncan and crew prepared a very good ham dinner, polenta, gravy, green bean/vege medley with apple sauce on the side, a tasty treat for our 240 guests.  The delightful serving crew from Wedgwood Presbyterian did such a good job.  Along with great energy, smiles and good cheer, they brought clothing items, hats and scarves to distribute.  We wish to thank St. Mark's Cathedral for the free use of their kitchen each holiday.  We also wish to thank Operation Sack Lunch for their crew and oversight of the Outdoor Meal Site at 6th & Columbia.
