Thanksgiving 2005: We served just over 375 people. My favorite guest was the lady from Georgia who had a smile that didn't stop. We had enough prepared for many more and the overage was sent to St. Martin de Porres Shelter as pre-arranged. The menu was a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with an extra dish of lasagna provided by Carmine. Thanks to St. Marks' Cathedral and Seattle First Baptist for free use of their kitchens.
Christmas 2005: Though the weather was normal off/on Seattle rain, we served over 325 people once and another 25 frequently. The menu was quite simple - pizza and roast beef/cheese sandwiches: peeled carrots, oranges, bananas, chips, cookies, bottled water and juice. Thanks to Operation Sack Lunch for the sandwiches.
New Year's Day 2006: It was a grand way to start the year! The sun came out and the rain stopped while we served over 450 people at City Hall Park. The menu was ham with pineapple, yams, green beans, rolls and rice pudding for dessert. The chefs were complimented many times - especially for the rice pudding. Hunger Intervention Project assisted in serving and provided hygiene packages which included warm socks. Knitted hats and scarves were distributed compliments of our lead server.
Easter 2006: The weather was great. Ham, green salad, fruit salad and potato salad was served along with little cakes and apple juice. Nathan proudly distributed Easter Eggs again. We served at least 450 people. Easter greetings were made, compliments to the chef given and stories were exchanged. Thanks are due Operation Sack Lunch for partnering with us for a second year.
